"BEYOND EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE"
DURHAM REGION LOCAL TRAINING BOARD

A new publication - "Beyond Education and Experience" - written for immigrants and internationally educated workers in Durham Region was released in March 2004.

Libraries, government and economic development offices, settlement and immigration offices, school boards, employment service providers and various business associations throughout the Region have received copies of the booklet.

The publication came about through partnership between the Local Training Board, World Education Services, the Durham District School Board's Continuing Education Centre, and the Community Development Council of Durham (formerly known as the Social Development Council of Ajax-Pickering).

By providing information, resources and advice for immigrants, particularly those who wish to enter the local labour force, we hope this booklet will encourage those who need assistance to connect with services presently offered in our community.

Effective integration of the skills of all immigrants is a key economic and social consideration for all communities.
If your organization would like to be involved in planning future events relating to employment or preparation for the internationally educated or immigrants who have settled in our region, we would like to hear from you!
