NEW BUSINESS DIRECTORY COMES TO DURHAM

On January 9th, 2004, the Durham Region Economic Development and Tourism Department, in partnership with local municipalities, the Durham Region Local Training Board and Durham College, launched a new and innovative on-line Business Directory and Community Marketplace at the Whitby Centennial Building.

This new directory allows consumers to find local products and services quickly and easily on the Internet. It also allows job seekers and others to research companies in geographic areas throughout Durham Region.

Each business keeps its own listing information current, so it remains up-to-date and accurate. A mapping function is included for urban areas to help researchers locate organizations listed. The directory provides one-stop access to community information on schools, not-for-profit groups and many other associations.

Businesses may also purchase affordable "enhanced" listings to increase their visibility and better serve their customers. Links to a company's web site and e-mail address allow the public increased access to information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The directory currently includes information for over 13,000 companies. To begin your search, simply click on the distinctive icon and follow the instructions.
