DURHAM REGION
LABOUR MARKET
ENVIRONMENTAL SCAN
UPDATE

The Durham Region Local Training Board conducts an annual environmental scan to assist the Board, the community, and governments in understanding the training and employment needs of Durham Region.

The environmental scan is a snapshot of Durham Region and presents information on the labour force supply and demand. It looks at the gaps between supply and demand and identifies training and employment needs and issues.

We have updated the 2001 e-scan based on new information released subsequent to the last environmental scan, and valuable input obtained from two community consultation meetings with local stakeholders, which took place in Whitby and Port Perry, in May. We thank all stakeholders for sharing their perspective and expertise with us, including our Local Training Board directors.

In particular, thanks to Rosemary Sparks from Uxbridge, for her assistance and insight in assisting us to compile and present this information to you.

We hope you will find this update useful and informative. If you have any questions or if you require clarification of any point, please do not hesitate to contact us.
