Current labour market information (LMI) is available from a variety of sources. The principal source of data about employers and employment is derived from the Canadian Business Patterns database provided by Statistics Canada. Information on migration and income is found in Statistics Canada’s Taxfiler database. Demographic data including population and educational attainment can be obtained from recent Census data.
Baseline data from these and other sources can provide important focus and context for labour force planning. DRLTB has compiled information on the 9 labour market indicators and appendices listed below. Analysis of this baseline data and other LMI will help inform decision-making and action planning as we move through the community consultation phase of the project.
